Job Summary:

We are seeking a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Shipping/Receiving Department. This is a hands-on, working position.Summary of Essential job functions for a Shipper/Receiving Supervisor:
- Supervise the Shipping and Receiving personnel.
- Supervise all aspects of shipping, including pulling picklist, packing orders, weighing and wrapping pallets, running rates, creating BOL’s, and loading trucks.
- Supervise all aspects of receiving, including unloading trucks and containers, receiving shipments, stocking items after inspection by QC.
- Warehouse organization – store product by designating storage areas; adjust storage areas according to production and shipping requirements; update location database.
- Monitor inventory by completing cycle counts as required.
- Schedule and coordinate vendor freight pickups and shipments
- Manage freight disputes
- Assign workloads and daily tasks to Shipping and Receiving personnel
- Communicate with Customer Service to provide freight quotes, answer shipping and receiving questions and troubleshoot problems
- Ensure inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained
- Ensure safety procedures are followed when operating forklifts and other machinery
Requirements for the Shipper/Receiving Supervisor position:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse organization
- A minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
- Clear knowledge of warehouse operations
- Leadership, organizational and time management skills to run the warehouse efficiently
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Current or previous forklift certification
